Artist Biography

I feel whatever I write on why I like photography will be very cliché. So I guess I will just speak out of a cliché mindset. I didn't take photography because it seemed like an "easy class" I'm taking photography because I wanted to have fun but also learn new techniques and skills. Taking photos is a fun way for me to express what I'm passionate about. For instance I like doing my makeup therefore I take photos of my makeup.

I'm the kind of person that if I'm doing something fun, I'll always have my phone ready to take a picture of it, I'm a "memory hoarder". Some people say "Why don't you put your camera down and just enjoy the memory as its happening right in front of you?" I tell them I like to take and keep pictures so when I look through them over the years I can kind of have an idea of what that day was like. I like to put pictures to my memories.

Fall is one of my favorite times of year for taking photos, the different colours make for phenomenal pictures and I feel like my imagination for photos is more in depth.

History of Photography

Nicéphore Niépce was able to succeed crudely in making photography a real thing.
"Niépce's associate Louis Daguerre went on to develop the daguerreotype process, the first publicly announced photographic process, which required only minutes of exposure in the camera and produced clear, finely detailed results. It was commercially introduced in 1839, a date generally accepted as the birth year of practical photography."

Most of my photos are grounded in people, I look for the unguarded moment, the essential soul peeking out, experience etched on a person’s face. - Steve McCurry
